Halloween Film List- Movies to watch on the scariest night of the year!

A list of films to watch on Halloween with something for everyone- as long as you don’t mind being scared crazy that is. Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments!

Rosemary’s Baby, 1968 – Drama Horror, this one’s a classic. 5/5

Zodiac, 2007 – For those of you who don’t want to watch a straight up horror this is a great film. Based on real events, a thriller film. 5/5

The Nightmare, 2015 – A pretty scary documentary, you’ll have trouble sleeping after seeing this. 4/5

A Nightmare on Elm Street, 1984 – The classic and it’s pretty much a slasher film, and it’s a lot of fun. AND I watched all of them and reviewed them on my blog- it will be up in a couple of days. 4/5

The Shining, 1980 – Psychological horror, classic, you’ve probably already seen it but it deserves to be on the list anyway. 5/5

An American Werewolf in London, 1981 – Comedy Horror, classic, amazing. Who doesn’t love a good werewolf film anyway?? 5/5

If you don’t like the sound of any of those, try one of these;

 Carrie (1976),

Psycho (1960),

Late Phases (2014),

What We Do In The Shadows (2014),

 Unfriended (2015),

and It Follows (2015).

Or why not take a look at my list of favorite horror films, here.

Paste Magazine also has a list of the best horror movies streaming on Netflix, here.

  1. Just putting this out there for anyone who may read the comments and like me doesn’t always get on with horror films. I like the majority of this list. Zodiac is one of my all time favourites. 🙂

    1. The things that makes horror movies really scary (and the majority of the time bad) are jump scares. These movies tend to avoid those. Zodiac is one of my all time favorites too. 🙂
